3 bridges forward .. 4 bridges back

Everything was looking good as we continued south toward Fort Lauderdale this morning. After about 6 miles and 3 draw bridges there was a clanking sound so we let the wind/current drift us off the channel and anchored. It was smooth in neutral but there was an alarming sound when engaged in forward or reverse. Theorizing a rebuilding of transmission might be needed we called Tow Boat US a third time. The only repair marina option for us was back north near Palm Beach. 4 bridges back north.
We are docked at New Port Cove. It's a bit north of where we were anchored 5 or 6 nights ago. We are waiting for a mechanic and Walter is finding out that 3 of 4 bolts connecting the shaft to transmission are again sheared. One is still good unlike last time when all 4 had sheared and the reason seemed likely to be the broken engine mount. Now we are wondering what is the reason for these bolts to have sheared again even though the engine mounts are intact.
We were towed back a distance of perhaps 8 miles and Tow Boat US swapped out the tow due to change in territory.
That's what is known at this time... Stay tuned.
