Sausalito Houseboat Neighborhoods

We are now anchored out in a crowded anchoring area. We spent a sometimes restless night with anchor alarms and a bucking boat for a few hours when winds were at their worst. Alarms were more due to setting them with out enough swing room. I suspect since we now have the outboard back we may put the dinghy in the water today.  Although it's a somewhat nasty, windy, rainy, day, the high is supposed to reach 55. Tom has a WiFi long range antenna which is not yet installed outside up high but we have it inside and are checking out what singles we might get. Though passwords or accounts were needed but I discovered xfinity has wifi you can subscribe too. I bought a week for $19.95 but you can't use as a hotspot and it only allows the device you subscribed on to access. If it works well enough I may get a 30 day subscription for $50.95. I assume it can be accessed any places we would be waiting for a weather window until we reach Mexico. There is no potential weather window until the weekend perhaps.  It's not the best time of year (winter) to be sailing on the California coast this far north but there are weather windows.
... Anyway...
Walking back from the West Marine Store again the day before yesterday, we checked out some of the many houseboats in Sausalito.   One neighborhood in particular seemed to house a lot of artists. Most were built upon large concrete barges and a few had a series of connected large plastic floats. We even saw the company that builds the concrete home floats and one was almost ready to splash including the new home built on top.

  2. Yeah it was cool. Seems adding photos with my blogger mobile app posts low quality images.
