Internet . 1/15
On Wednesday myself and the Canadian brother helping his brother sail walked into the larger town for Internet and just checking it out. It is more touristy than the smaller town closer to the marina. Various hotel resorts on the beach as well as more restaurants and places selling tourist gifts. There were 2 Internet cafés operated by a communications entity. We decided to go to the one at a shopping mall which was 14 blocks further mostly just to see more. I did buy a tee shirt.
Internet was equivalent to about $6 an hour and you got a card with log in info. We waited in line about 45 minutes. Only 2 out of 3 computers were working. I have 16 minutes remaining for another quick visit. There's no wifi, you have to use their units. The speed was good. I guess many hotels do have wifi but not the marina...not yet.
We randomly picked out a spot to eat on the way back and it ended up being my favorite meal so far. Food is amazingly cheap here. Often crazy cheap. Like a nice omelet with lettuce and tomato sandwich for the equivalent of 40 cents. These would easily cost $5 in the US if you could find one. Cafe espresso or americano 25 cents rather than the $2 or more you'd pay in the US.
It's been breezy and cool ever since but still tee shirt and shorts weather in the bulk of the day as far as I'm concerned. We heard Miami had a frost warning ? I wonder how it's been in Minnesota?
