Other sailboats . 1/22

According to the few who live on there boats here and have for many years, the marina is about as full as they've seen it. About 1/3rd of the slips are occupied at the most. One notable boat that's been here a while is 'Road to the Isles'. Home port is Nova Scotia and it is a 20 meter schooner. The captain is a longtime and famous tall ships captain. He captained the well know vessel 'Blunose' back in the day. This tall ship is depicted on the Canadian dime. His wife and daughter are also onboard. His daughter recently wrote a cruising guide of here. I hear she is a marine biologist and welder and she welded the steel hulled 'Road to the Isles'.

Another larger boat that arrived a week or so after us is 'Lion King'. She's 52 feet and a German made Hannsen though I'm not sure of the spelling. It's a big boat and sailed by a fit and friendly couple from The Netherlands. It's pretty state of the art and I'm sure has electric winches. It has duel helms and a large dinghy locker door folds down to provide a dock off the stern. A couple folding bikes were also in there. I talked with them the day they arrived and interestingly they crossed the Atlantic by way of Iceland and Greenland. They've flown back to Europe for a few weeks of skiing.
