Anchored in Hobe Sound

We are anchored just off the channel on the Indian River. I think we are near Jupiter. After breakfast Walter was checking a few maintenance things and decided to repack the stuffing box. It's a greasy task and can be hard to reach the nuts and remove the ring. I watched and made paper towels easier to get. Off course it's nice when such things aren't happening but it's part of owning a boat. It's actually part of owning a house too but you can let things go on a home on ground. It's not wise to let things go on a boat. Having the needed tools and supplies is important and the Captain has that down. The previous 2 years I've volunteer crewed, not so much. We also had a problem with a switch for the vacuum pump that flushes the marine toilet. Again I watched and assisted along with Candace to activate the switch while Walter was testing connections. Once the projects were finished we had lunch. Earlier with a weather check it was decided there's no need to move today as 25 knot north winds and 10' - 15' waves were forecast for the gulf stream. Possibly Friday looks good for a crossing?

I didn't take any photos of the maintenance work. It was too interesting to watch.

We are running a generator on deck since we're not motoring today. There is a diesel generator in the engine room that will eventually do this kind of non motoring charging. It's not functional at this point so a Honda generator does the task.
